One Loft Racing is a modern form of pigeon racing which has become popular since the turn of this century. It has turned, what was once a closed Pigeon Fanciers hobby, into a public sport.
Just like horse racing, you no longer need to own a pigeon loft to own a racing bird. In years past, and still is the tradition of many other famouse races, pigeon fanciers race birds from their wn lofts, and race averages are worked out by the time and distance flown.
A ONE LOFT Race is a specific loft where owners / breeders send their birds as youngsters and all the birds are raced from that one loft - So just like horse racing, every bird flies the same course.
-
Modern pigeon racing, the electronic timing system shows when a pigeon arrives back at their loft.
-
The pigeon wears an electronic ring on its leg, which is fitted with a electronic chip.
-
An electronic timing system pocket clock holds the timings, colours and sex of all of a lofts pigeons. It will show how many pigeons in the loft have returned.
